Preface
It is very pleased that the eighth international symposium of innovative management, information and production (IMIP2017)is held at Wuhu, Annui, China on 2-4 June 2017, which was dedicated to the art of big data. Welcome new comers and repeating attendants at IMIP. We will meet again since the last symposium nearly a year ago at Matsue in Japan.
Wuhu is a city in southeastern Anhui province, China. Locating on the southeast bank of the Yangtze River, approximately 90 km (56 mi) southwest of Nanjing. Its population was 3.5million inhabitants at the 2010 census.
Wuhu is known to have been inhabited since at least 770 BCE. Under the Ming dynasty, Wuhu developed into a major commercial center and river port of the Yangtze River and since that time has been known as a center of the rice trade.
The city has remained a commercial center since that time. The city's Roman Catholic cathedral, St. Joseph's Cathedral, dates from this time. Most of the downtown area alongside the Yangtze River was ceded in the British concession. Trade in rice, wood, and tea flourished at Wuhu until the Warlord Era of the 1920s and 1930s, when bandits were active in the area.
Major industries began to be developed in Wuhu after the Second World War, with the development of the textile industry, shipbuilding, and paper mills. Despite this, Wuhu remained primarily a commercial center for trade in rice, silk, cotton, tea, wheat and eggs. With recent years' economic rise, Wuhu has become a hub for manufacturing in the area.
Today without the art of big data and artificial intelligent technology, our society cann’t run well. In the world, top companies deal with 1 billion data. Google Corp has 7 intems which has the number of users more than 1 billion users. Facebook has 3 items. Apple smart phone (Iphone) has the number of delivery is more than 1 billion, In china Tencent has users of interactive application more than 1 billions.
Economy and management are depending on big data more than 1 billion data. That means methods how we can deal with such big data are influencing on future direction of corporations. Without employing big data analyses and artificial engineering technology, we cannot deal with customers.
This symposium provides timely discussions for today research topics. The three keynotes are (1) ”A Hybrid Optimization Approach to Big Data Mining and Its Analysis of Customer Relationship Management” by Junzo Watada, Petronas University of Technology, (2) “The Challenges China Faced to Construct Innovation-Oriented Country,” by Gang Liu, Nankai University, and (3) Model Selection and Model Averaging for Nonlinear Regression Models,” by Qingfeng Liu, Otaru University of Commerce.
